These terms are a contract between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] covering the RevDex app and this website. By downloading or using RevDex you accept them. If you don't, don't use the app.
1. The agreement
"RevDex", "we" and "us" mean [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], a company registered in [JURISDICTION] under number [COMPANY NUMBER]. "You" means the person using the service. "Service" means the RevDex iOS app, this website and anything we provide through them.
Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least [13 / 16] years old to use RevDex, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate information when you register, and keep it current.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in credentials to yourself.
- One person, one account. Don't sell, rent or transfer an account, and don't run automated or scripted accounts.
- Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
4. Licence to use RevDex
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use RevDex on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, resell or create derivative works from the Service, except where the law expressly permits it.
5. Acceptable use
Don't do any of the following:
- Submit photographs you didn't take yourself, or images taken from the internet, magazines, screens, posters, brochures or other people's posts.
- Photograph scale models, toys, video-game footage or printed pictures and pass them off as real spots.
- Use bots, emulators, modified clients, GPS spoofing or any other method to fake spots, inflate XP or manipulate leaderboards.
- Harass, impersonate or abuse other users, or upload anything unlawful, hateful, sexual or violent.
- Photograph people in a way that intrudes on their privacy, or upload images whose main subject is an identifiable person rather than a vehicle.
- Interfere with the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written permission.
We can remove content and restrict accounts that break these rules. Where fake spots are detected, we may remove the affected cards, XP, badges and leaderboard placings.
6. Spotting safely
RevDex sends you out into the real world, which is your responsibility to navigate.
- Never use the app while driving, cycling or otherwise operating a vehicle.
- Pay attention to traffic and your surroundings. Don't step into the road to get a shot.
- Don't trespass. Respect private property, car parks, showrooms and event rules.
- Respect other people's wishes. If an owner asks you not to photograph their car, don't.
- Obey all local laws about photography and access.
You use RevDex at your own risk, and you are solely responsible for your conduct while doing so.
7. Your photos and content
You keep ownership of your photographs. We don't claim them.
By uploading content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt and display it strictly for the purpose of operating and improving the Service — identifying the vehicle, generating and displaying your card, and showing it to anyone you share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content, apart from copies retained in backups for the period described in our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you took the photographs you upload, and that sharing them with us doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
8. Cards, XP and collection value
Cards, XP, ranks, badges and "collection value" exist inside RevDex and nowhere else. They:
- have no monetary value and are not currency, property or a financial instrument;
- cannot be sold, traded outside the app, or exchanged for anything of value;
- may be adjusted, rebalanced, reset or removed as we tune the game;
- are licensed to you for use within the Service, not owned by you.
Nothing in RevDex represents ownership of, or any interest in, an actual vehicle.
9. Identification accuracy
Vehicle identification is produced by automated machine-vision models and is offered as a best effort. It will sometimes be wrong — particularly on modified cars, replicas, unusual trims, poor lighting or difficult angles.
Specifications shown on cards are compiled from public sources and are provided for interest only. Do not rely on RevDex for any purchase, valuation, insurance, safety or legal decision.
10. Intellectual property
The RevDex name, logo, card design, catalogue, badge artwork, software and everything else we create remain ours or our licensors'. These terms grant you no rights in them beyond the licence in section 4.
Manufacturer trademarks. RevDex is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by any vehicle manufacturer. All manufacturer names, model names, logos and other marks are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe and identify vehicles — nominative fair use.
If you believe content on RevDex infringes your rights, contact legal@revdex.app with details of the work, where it appears, and your contact information.
11. Purchases and subscriptions

Any purchases are processed by Apple under its own terms. Prices are shown in the App Store before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed in your Apple ID settings.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. You may also have statutory cancellation rights under your local consumer law.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using RevDex at any time and delete your account from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service — in which case we'll give reasonable notice where we can.
On termination, your licence ends and your collection and account data may be permanently deleted. Sections 7 through 15 survive termination.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that identifications will be accurate.
Nothing here excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost collections, lost profits or loss of goodwill.
Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of [£50 / €50 / $50] or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms.
15. Apple-specific terms
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for RevDex.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims.
- Apple is not responsible for investigating or resolving third-party intellectual property claims relating to the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings in your own country.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app develops. We'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is material, we'll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use RevDex afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
